Homeowners purchasing a new Bryant Homes' property in Stansted Mountfitchet, Essex can use their existing property as part of the deal.

The homebuilder has put some of its Foresthall Park development houses up for sale under a part-exchange scheme.

Tony Woodman, regional sales and marketing director for Bryant Homes, described the new deal as a "simple way of beating the slowdown".

He said: "In a quiet market, many people are struggling to sell their current home.

"Our scheme at Foresthall Park means that people can come along and choose a new home and part-exchange the one they own now."

A range of six three, four and five-bedroom properties are currently available under the scheme, with prices starting at £235,000.

A lack of subprime lending has left many potential buyers in a difficult position, according to the Association of mortgage Intermediaries.

Director of the organisation Robert Sinclair explained that finding finance can be particularly difficult for those with a bad credit history.ADNFCR-1100-ID-19116871-ADNFCR
