Buy-to-let properties could prove a worthwhile investment in the long-run, it is claimed.
Chris Jenkins, manager at Clarity Commercial, says that some properties are on the market for a discounted price, which could reap great rewards alongside their rental income.
"Before anyone invests they need to work out what they want from their investment in the first place - capital growth, cash flow, property for children at university et cetera," he continues.
Furthermore, Mr Jenkins says people need to research the locations they are considering in order to ascertain the rental demand in a certain area.
The Association of Residential Letting Agents (Arla) revealed in March 2009 that 8.2 per cent of members reported that landlords were buying more properties in the first quarter of 2009.
Arla also found that 4.7 per cent of members reported that landlords were selling more properties in the first quarter of 2009.
