The vast range of properties available in Spain means that British buyers can access some "fantastic deals" when looking to buy a property overseas, according to one expert.

Paul Collins, editor at the website, said that the availability of mortgage finance in the country also means that Brits can take advantage of accessing high loan-to–value mortgages in the country.

"Spain has always been a great place for overseas property buyers and remains that," he explained.

He added that repossessed home are also starting to be sold, so there are opportunities there and there are a lot of properties on the market.

However, Mr Collins British property buyers to take their time when considering a home abroad and to ensure all the legal checks are carried out.

Feltrim International's managing director, Adam Cornwell, also recently stated that there are a number of "genuine top-quality" homes available on the Spanish property market.
