Dubai property development firm Emaar Properties has announced that it remains completely committed to completing all its proposed Egypt property projects, despite reports to contrary.

A recent report in an Egyptian newspaper claimed that the Dubai real estate developer was going to put to Egyptian housing projects on hold, in light of the recent financial debacle that has surfaced in Dubai.

In a statement issued by Emaar Misr, the country subsidiary of Emar properties, he said: “Egypt is one of the key markets for Emaar, and we remain committed to completing all announced projects.

“Emaar Misr's projects in Egypt - Uptown Cairo, Mivida and Marassi - are progressing as planned with the first homes in Marassi and Uptown Cairo to be handed over next year.”
