Property specialists Cle France claim British property buyers are attracted to the French lifestyle.
Sharon Evans, director of the firm, explained: "Everything is at quite a frantic pace in England and people work long hours. When you go to France, as soon as you get off that ferry you just breathe a sigh of relief.
The French take time for dinner, time for their friends, time to chat to somebody at the boulangerie, she added.
A more laid-back lifestyle is bound to attract Brits looking for rest and relaxation – a holiday home in the south of France could be the perfect summer getaway.
