Brazil is one of the world leaders when it comes to overseas property for sale, as the destination has been one of the most resilient over the past couple of years, according to an expert.

Paul Collins, editor at the BuyAssociation, said that during the last 24 months or so, the Latin American country has maintained strong growth in terms of sales of homes.

Furthermore, Brazil's rental sector has proved to be "robust", with the expert noting that this is a good sign of "a healthy amount of movement" within the property market.

It is also evidence that the country's modern abodes are in high demand at the moment, Mr Collins stated.

The optimism surrounding overseas property for sale in Brazil could in part be attributed to two upcoming sporting events which it will be hosting.

In 2014 it will revel in welcoming football fans for the World Cup, while two years later it will have the planet's eyes on it once again when Rio de Janeiro takes on the Olympic Games.
