The Brazilian housing market is currently the strongest in the whole of South America, according to an expert.

Paul Collins, editor of BuyAssociation.co.uk, said that the standard of property for sale in the country represents a "very good prospect".

He pointed towards the amount of new projects which have be put forward and planned, and these do not seem to be slowing down as they have been in other areas of the world.

"There are a lot of developments being built but there is also control being exercised by the government in terms of what planning and prospects they are approving, particularly for the north-east region. So that should help to maintain the integrity of the area as a tourist destination as well," Mr Collins went on to say.

Brazil is set to take its turn in the limelight in the coming years as it hosts the 2014 football World Cup.
