With the Cape Verde property market holding up well despite the economic crisis, a growing number of British developers are eyeing up huge build programmes in the archipelago, which is located 375 miles from the coast of Senegal.

The governmnet of Cape Verde is reportedly trying to get more UK contractors involved in a large scale infrastructure programme designed to improve its ememrging tourist sector. The total cost of the work could cost in excess of £2.5bn.

A delegation from Cape Verde is expected to visit the UK in June to drum up UK interest in its build programme, which is understood to include plans to construct a 375 mile bridge linking the islands to the mainland.
