ONE house type is certainly proving popular with families and first-time buyers at a countryside development.
The three-bedroom Palmerston is a favourite design with buyers according to housebuilder Barratt North East.
The house type can be viewed at Lyons Park in Hetton-le-Hole, between Chester le Street and Durham, where the Palmerston showhome features an eye-catching interior of the latest colours and furnishings.
Sales director Fenton Hewitt said: "The Palmerston is one of our best-selling homes and represents extremely good value. Our showhomes at Lyons Park offers visitors a chance to come along and see the style and quality of the homes we're building there."
At Lyons Park, Barratt is building a mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes for first-time buyers and families at prices from £115,000 to £189,000. The Palmerston is from £139,000.
A selection of homes at the development is available through the HomeBuy Direct low-cost homebuying scheme, which can reduce the cost of house purchase.
The scheme gives buyers the opportunity to move in for 70% of the price, with the remaining 30% covered by a loan, interest-free for five years, from Barratt and the Government's Homes and Communities Agency. Because a smaller mortgage is required, monthly repayments are much more affordable.
Lyons Park is on Colliery Lane. For more information, tel: 0191 517 1188, or go to www.barratthomes.co.uk/lyonspark.
