There has been an increase in housing transaction levels since April, an expert has revealed.
Lucian Cook, director of residential research at Savills, believes people are sensing the bottom of the market is near and are therefore buying while the going is good.
"What you have had in very general terms, is applicant numbers have been building since the beginning of the year," he revealed.
This is also reflected in the average time properties are left on the market, added Mr Cook.
According to Hometrack, sellers achieved an average of 91 per cent of their asking price in June, compared to 90.3 per cent in May and 89.6 per cent in April.
The volume of buyers has increased by 36 per cent in the past six months, compared to a 6.4 per cent rise in the number of homes for sale, the statistics revealed.
