TRANSPORT
Trains
Swindon train station is situated in Station Road, about 5 minutes walk from the town centre, and 2 minutes walk to Swindon Bus Station. Trains to London are frequent and take approximately 1 hour. The station also serves Bristol, Chippenham and Bath Spa.

Buses
Swindon Bus Station is located in the town centre, just off Fleming Way. 2 minutes walk to Swindon Train Station. It is served by Thamesdown Transport and Stagecoach, as well as National Express.

Park & Ride
Swindon Town Centre and Old Town are served by two park and ride schemes - one in south Swindon, one in north Swindon, with buses running every 12 minutes.

Taxis

Voted ‘Swindon’s favourite place’ in 2003, Coate Water is a great place for boating, fishing, mini golf, picnics, barbecues and walks, with its own paddling pool and miniature railway. At Swindon you are ideally placed to explore Banbury Castle Country Park with its unspoilt countryside and spectacular views across the Marlborough Downs. No less than six horses were carved into the native Wiltshire chalk by our ancestors, with the oldest being the original White Horse at Uffington. Or take in the brooding monoliths of Avebury’s Stone Circle, sentinels of the landscape since they were first set in place at least 4,000 years ago. The location too of Silbury Hill, the largest man-made mound in Europe.

Explore the wonderful Town Gardens a picturesque town park, with formal gardens, aviary, play area, tennis courts and cafe. Concerts take place in the bowl and bandstand during the Summer, as well as the annual Asian Mela Festival. The Town Gardens are open dawn to dusk daily

J16 M4 follow signs for Swindon, at Mannington Roundabout turn right, go past Carphone Warehouse and under the bridge, at next roundabout take the second exit.
Go straight over the next two mini roundabouts onto Kingshill Road.  At the roundabout at the top of the hill take the second exit (right) onto Okus Road.  1887 can be found directly on your left hand side.
By train a 15-20 minute walk from Swindon Railway Station through the town centre and up Escott Hill or Victoria Hill and along Bath Road to Okus Road and 1887.
