Burlington Green puts some of Chiswick’s finest features on your doorstep. A few minutes stroll brings you to the Chiswick High Road with a wide variety of shops including a branch of Waitrose, cafe’s, restaurants and access to excellent transport links from nearby Chiswick Park station. From here a half hour tube journey will take you to the West End or Heathrow. Esporta Health and Fitness is just across the road and there’s even a nature reserve, Gunnersbury Triangle, a little wildlife oasis in the busy neighbourhood.
Chiswick High Road is a tree lined boulevard where many of the restaurants and bars have pavement tables, giving it a European alfresco atmosphere when the sun shines. The food on offer embraces just about every cuisine and the venues range from the casual to the very smart.
Shops of all kinds can be found along the High Road and include fashion boutiques, delicatessens, interior designers, hairdressers, banks and bakers. Chiswick’s sheer variety means that most of your retail needs are within walking distance of Burlington Green.
If you like outdoor living, Chiswick has some of West London’s largest parks around you. Gunnersbury Park, a beautiful Grade ll listed landscape of mature trees, historic buildings and sports pitches, as well as the world famous Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew, are amongst the many local parks on the doorstep of Chiswick residents.
Chiswick House, designed by 18th century gentleman architect Lord Burlington, retains an elegant presence in its classical gardens, which are occasionally used as the setting for outdoor movie screenings. Duke’s Meadows is a Chiswick community asset, with artists’ studios, gardens, riverside benches and farmers’ markets. It’s also where you can play tennis and golf with the river Thames as a backdrop.
Just along the river to the West is Strand on the Green, where picturesque old houses, restaurants and pubs sit side by side along the pretty riverbank leading up to Kew Bridge. On a sunny day, it’s one of the most tranquil spots for a riverside walk and where you’ll find it hard to believe you are only thirty from the centre of London
Whether by foot, rail or road Burlington Green is incredibly well located to enjoy both the shopping and eating delights of Chiswick High Road and London’s vibrantWest End. Chiswick Park is served by the District Line, only one stop away from the Piccadilly Line providing access to Heathrow airport in only 39 minutes or just 25 minutes to the West End making Burlington Green a very convenient place from which to travel for business or pleasure.
The M4 and North Circular are literally just around the corner giving direct access to the wider road networ minutes from the centre of London.
