Arrive at Cambridge Yard and it's immediately clear that this is a new residential district for Hanwell. Comprising a range of five or six-storey contemporary style apartment buildings and three-storey maisonettes, most blocks feature private balconies or back gardens. Outside, Cambridge Yard feels open and welcoming with apartment buildings finished in a combination of soft yellow brick, render, weather boards and glass curtain walls. Inside, the rooms are spacious, and in most apartments floor-to-ceiling windows in the living area lead out on to a private balcony, whilst many have access to a communal or shared roof terrace.
Inside, every apartment feels light and airy, with floor-toceiling windows to the living area. A contemporary style kitchen and bathroom are complemented by the addition in most of the two bedroom properties of an en-suite shower room to the main bedroom. Most apartments also have built-in wardrobes to the main bedroom as well.
Cambridge Yard sits in an established residential area flanked by streets of attractive Victorian terraced houses. These streets are typical of the area as a whole, which has a wealth of historic Victorian and Edwardian buildings as well as an abundance of parkland and green spaces. Local green spaces of note include Brent Lodge Park, Elthorne Park, Brent River Park and the popular Brent Valley Golf Club. A range of shops is available locally; most of the major high street retailers can be found at Ealing Broadway, which is easily accessible by bus or car.
Cambridge Yard is well placed for transport connections both locally and into the centre of the capital.
