Leisure and entertainment are well served from drama, dance, music and films at the award winning Eastgate Theatre & Arts Centre to numerous restaurants and pubs, and a busy programme of special events as diverse as highland games and Beltane celebrations, arts festivals and agricultural shows. There's a swimming pool and leisure centre in the town, several golf courses in the area, superb countryside for riding and mountain-biking, and some of the best salmon fishing in the country along the River Tweed.
