For day to day amenities, you'll find that nearby Bassingham and North Hykeham are very convenient with a choice of shops, pubs, takeaways and so on. But for serious shopping and entertainment you'll probably want to visit Lincoln. This attractive cathedral city is the focus for the region and has a wonderful range of shops, markets and supermarkets as well as a host of thriving pubs, clubs, bistros and restaurants. For an evening out there is nothing better than a visit to the famous Theatre Royal or multi-screen Odeon.   For those with children there are schools in the area with primary schools at Swinderby and Bassingham, two comprehensives at North Hykeham and a university college at Lincoln. Kids will also enjoy the local playing fields, whilst the leisure centre at North Hykeham has excellent facilities for swimming, badminton, sqaush, five-a-side football and the like. Or when you want to be a spectator, take a trip to Lincoln City Football Club or Market Rasen for horse racing. Other attractions for days out include Hartsholme Country Park, Whisby nature Park, Doddington Hall and Stapleford Woods.
