York is a relatively small city and is very easy to get around whichever method of transport you decide to use.
Walking
York city centre is small enough to get around on foot and because the central area is for pedestrians only, there's no traffic to worry about.
Cycling
York is the UK's top cycling city, with 15% of York residents, compared to 3% nationally, travelling to work by bike. This is partly due to the fact that York is so cycle-friendly, with dozens of cycle paths and lots of central places to lock up your bike.
