A sense of belonging
Surrounded by open fields and rolling countryside, the village of Bengeo sits on a rise between the River Beane and the River Rib. This is where the brand new community at Serenity has been taking shape.
These houses and apartments may be new, but they have been designed to reflect a traditional village ambience and each contains a host of contemporary features to sustain a busy family lifestyle.
Taking life at a country pace
Living at Serenity will help you to leave the stresses of everyday life behind. The countryside has its own natural pace, changing imperceptibly as the seasons unfold. You will find a new serenity, an inner calm as you slowly adjust to life in the country.
Yet with superb road and rail links to central London just 26 miles south, the buzz of the city is there and waiting. This idyllic part of Hertfordshire offers rolling hills and country lanes and since Bengeo is almost encircled by tributaries of the River Lea, there are fantastic opportunities for waterside strolls, picnics and fishing. The village offers a few stores including a grocery shop and post office, a couple of local pubs and two churches including the lovely Norman Church of St Leonard, the oldest building in Bengeo.
A mile south of Bengeo is the county town of Hertford, a small and picturesque market town full of charismatic charm. Shopping is well catered for with some of the larger chains represented including Boots, M&S, Waitrose and Monsoon, but unlike many of its neighbours, the town is full of interesting independent retailers, many occupying the beautifully preserved historic buildings.
There is also a shopping centre and a monthly farmer’s market selling seasonal local produce. There are plenty of restaurants and café-bars offering traditional British fare, Indian, French or Thai and a good selection of real ale pubs. Hertford also boasts its own theatre, museum and castle.
Serenity – where the living is easy.
