Living in Slough
Made up of two wards to the west of Slough, Cippenham boasts an ancient village green at its centre and a selection of local shops including hairdressers and florist. The Huntercombe and The Swan public houses are located within the village and an Asda Superstore is a few moments away by car close to Windsor Meadows.
Slough’s town centre provides retail and leisure opportunities for all. The Queensmere Observatory shopping centre houses many popular high street names and is also the site for the Empire cinema and Virgin Active Gym. Smaller independent shops can be found on Slough’s High Street or further afield in picturesque Royal Windsor or Maidenhead.
For evening entertainment there are many bars and pubs to choose from in Slough. Theatre, dance, music and comedy events are held at The West Wing, the town’s newest arts venue which supports community projects as well as professional acts.
For those who enjoy outdoor activities, the borough of Slough boasts over 600 acres of parkland and open spaces, including the most well known, Upton Court Park, as well as smaller residential areas closer to home.
Travel Connections
The closest rail station to The Dorney is Burnham, positioned a short drive away to the north. From Burnham, Slough station is a five minute rail journey away. Commuters enjoy the benefits of a regular train service from Slough to London Paddington.
For road users, Junction 7 of the M4 is minutes away, providing access to the M25, Heathrow and the south. Travelling away from London, the M40 is just 5 miles north of Slough.
