One of the worlds leading steel-making towns, Consett was the town that provided steel for the construction of Blackpool tower and some of Britains most famous nuclear submarines. It was also the very first town in the world to have a Salvation Army Corps Band, formed in 1879 initially to play in the streets at Christmas, and is home to The Empire, one of the oldest theatres in the country.
Consett has undergone an almost continuous period of regeneration and is now more well known for its picturesque views over the Derwent Valley, with the North Pennines, Derwent Walk Country Park and Chopwell Woods all within driving distance.
Situated just minutes from Consett town centre, The Green has access to everything this popular town has to offer. A wide range of shops, banks, restaurants and other amenities are all within a short distance of the development. Close proximity to the city of Durham and Tyne and Wear makes Consett a great place to live for commuters looking for a taste of the country.
