TRANSPORTFrequent buses link Sheriffhall Park & Ride to central Edinburgh via the Royal Infirmary. Approximately 15 buses per hour during week days with a less frequent service in the evenings and at weekends. There is also a selection of Lothian Transport buses from Dalkeith to Edinburgh.
There is a frequent rail service from Musselburgh to Edinburgh which takes around 15 minutes.
Dial-A-Ride provides a door to door transport service for people with limited mobility who can not manage public transport. The service is provided by Handicabs Lothian Ltd and is financially supported by Midlothian Council.
LEISUREMidlothian offers a variety of leisure facilities, with Dalkeith Community Sports Centre providing a health & fitness suite, swimming lessons, synthetic and grass pitches and an athletics track. The area also boasts many countryside parks; Gore Glen Woodland Park, Penicuik to Dalkeith Walkway, Roslin Glen Country Park, Straiton Pond Local Nature Reserve as well as Vogrie Country Park which also has a 9 hole golf course. There is a Snowsports Centre at Hillend and the Brunton Theatre is in Musselburgh.
