The events are being held at the Hollybrook Lodge and Hinkler Place developments, where specialists from Barratt Homes will be at hand to offer advice.

The experts from Barratt Homes will offer guidance on the numerous schemes available, which help make it much easier for house hunters in Southampton, Hampshire, to own their first home.

There are a variety of options for people looking to buy properties at Hollybrook Lodge and Hinkler Place. They include First Buy, which will provide buyers with a loan of up to 20 per cent of the price of a property, with the money being jointly funded by the Government's Homes and Communities Agency and Barratt.

The remaining 80 per cent of the price then has to be found by the buyers themselves, comprising the deposit and mortgage.

NewBuy is another scheme that visitors will be able to learn about. It has seen the return of 95 per cent mortgages for first time buyers and has recorded a lot of interest thanks to the dramatically reduced deposit required to purchase a property.

Barratt Homes sales director Sarah Eales said: "The focus at the event will be on First Buy which is designed purely for first time buyers. There will be plenty of stylish new homes for our potential buyers to look at and choose from.

"I think many first time buyers are still unaware of the help available to them to get onto the property ladder, so this event provides a great opportunity for Barratt Homes to showcase how we can help."

In addition to its Southampton developments, Barratt Homes has a variety of developments in other areas of Britain, including Hull, where its Aspire premises is situated.

The homes have been designed to meet all modern living requirements, as they offer dining kitchens and ensuites.
