Taylor Wimpey supports schools during walk to school month

With winter well on its way and the darker mornings and evenings upon us, Taylor Wimpey is helping to keep pupils in Somerset safe on their walk to and from school. The house builder has donated 200 high visibility reflective armbands to Eastover Community Primary School to raise awareness of road safety.

Being visible to motorists is even more important now as research* indicates a ten per cent increase in collisions where a pedestrian is killed or injured in the four weeks following the clocks going back, compared to the previous four weeks.

Tim Walters from Eastover Community Primary School said: "We actively encourage our pupils to walk to and from school; it's a great way to keep healthy and active and reduces road congestion. However, many are now finding themselves doing their journey in the dark, and we're keen to make sure they stay as visible and safe as possible. We'd like to say a big thank you to Taylor Wimpey for the armbands - they'll definitely help our pupils to stand out."

Richard Goad, regional sales and marketing director at Taylor Wimpey Bristol, comments: "We're committed to supporting the local communities in which we build so it's a real pleasure to be able to make these donations and hopefully help in some way towards keeping pupils safe on their journeys to and from school."

Taylor Wimpey is currently selling a collection of stunning two, three, and four bedroom family homes at its Wembdon Grange development in Somerset with prices starting from £164,995.
