The look and feel of where you are living is one of the main decisions when hunting for a new home.
New homes are generally of a higher calibre in terms of design in comparison to older homes. Homebuilders are constantly improving on design and are ever conscious when it comes to providing the right look and feel to their homes for sale. Some homebuilders even offer additional services such as an interior design service and also may give the chance for the buyer to choose fittings for their home. In fact famous designers including Wayne Hemmingway and John Rocha have teamed up with homebuilders to further enhance the design of the new homes they are building.
There are many initiatives and awards that have been set up in order to recognise the achievements made by the homebuilding industry. These include The annual Housing Design Awards organised by the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment (CABE), The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Stirling Prize and Design for Manufacture - a competition to design a £60k house, part of the Government's commitment to deliver decent, affordable homes for everyone - whether to rent or buy - in sustainable communities where people will be proud to live.
