From two semi-detached houses in Dumbarton in 1990, Group Chief Executive John O’Neill has built Strathclyde Homes into one of Scotland’s leading privately owned housebuilders, with a turnover in excess of £23 million a year. Its sister company, Strathclyde Timber Systems, under the leadership of Managing Director James Macdonald, supplies timber kits to a number of other major housebuilders. Strathclyde Timber Systems has recently achieved registration to the UK Timber Frame Association’s independently monitored Q mark scheme, which means that it meets the highest standards in the industry.

Going forward, the business is well placed to continue its growth as one of Scotland’s leading private housebuilders. In 2004, the company introduced its Seal of Excellence as part of its drive to deliver the highest levels of customer satisfaction in the house-building sector with the prime objective to deliver a zero defects product. As such, every one of its newly completed homes is visited, inspected, and approved by one of the directors before it is handed over to its customers thus ensuring optimum levels of satisfaction.
