About Oaks Hamlet - In the ancient county of Kent is a landscape of rolling fields, hop gardens and orchards. Here lies an exciting new hamlet set beneath the gentle slopes of the North Downs and close to the tranquil River Medway.
Oaks Hamlet is country living at its best. It is a self-contained peaceful hamlet located on the edge of the new community of Kings Hill and is bordered by a country park. Oaks Hamlet is the quintessential picture postcard of Kent having taken its inspiration from some of the prettiest villages in the Garden of England.
Enter Oaks Hamlet through the gateway lodges, pause by the green and look around. The beauty of the surroundings will be self-evident with traditional village homes, country gardens and landscaped courtyards. Stroll through the quiet lanes and courtyards to the ancient woodlands with their bridleways and woodland walks-every gentle bend will reveal something new and pleasing to the eye. Oaks hamlet is indeed an evocative picture of a traditional Kentish village-a place to wile away time and escape the pressures of work.
When you drive through the gates of Oaks Hamlet you enter a different world.
A home in the country is many peoples’ dream-the idea of a snug retreat far in distance and time from the pressures of city life. It is a return to buildings designed in the traditional Kentish vernacular with the cottage being the symbol of all that is ‘home and hearth’.
Oaks Hamlet has been deliberately designed to be low density and as such enjoys a good range of garden sizes. It has a distinct sense of place and has the character of a traditional Kentish village. To this end it has primarily two storey homes but with some exciting three storey feature properties that are located to take advantage of views over the adjacent Country Park.
It has been designed with homes facing onto landscaped spaces, formal courtyards or fronting narrow lanes. The road layout has only one entrance and is designed to reduce traffic speed to a minimum providing the quiet and safe environment of a ‘home zone’. It also offers adequate levels of parking for residents and their guests with most properties having a minimum of two spaces in addition to visitor parking.
The entranceway to Oaks Hamlet, with its distinctive ragstone lodges and open gate, engenders a private community. Security has been carefully considered with the pedestrian gates to the Country Park restricted to the use by residents only.
There is a range of homes which includes some impressive apartments at The Manor. There is all the visual variety that one would expect within a traditional settlement. The homes vary in size from two to five bedrooms to encourage diversity and cater for all age groups.
The location of Oaks Hamlet next to the Country Park will appeal to all-offering quiet country walks in a natural environment or invigorating runs for fitness enthusiasts.
