Living in Maidenhead
Since the first bridge was built in 1280, Maidenhead established itself as a staging post on the road from London to Bath. The A4 (Bath Road) still passes through the middle of the town, but the coming of Brunel’s Great Western Railway in 1838, really put the town on the map and sealed it’s popularity with London commuters ever since.

Situated along the “silicon corridor”, several leading companies such as Nortel, Avery Denisen, Seiko, Symantec and Fujitsu having their UK headquarters in the town providing Maidenhead itself with fantastic employment opportunities.

This combined with the obvious natural beauty of the area, the excellent leisure facilities and transport links, may explain why it has some of the highest house prices in the country (a problem that TVHA is addressing through the provision of the affordable part-buy, part-rent scheme at Kings Quarter). Maidenhead has a pleasant pedestrianised high street, where you will find a good selection of shops, restaurants, bars and cafes. The Nicholson shopping centre offers further choice of major retailers and supermarkets such as Sainsburys.

The Magnet Pool and Leisure Complex, Odeon Multiplex, Ten Pin Bowling, Skate Park and Nordern Farm Arts Centre, provide leisure amenities for all ages and tastes whilst Maidenhead is renowned for it’s lively nightlife

Location
Situated on the A4, 26 miles west of London, Maidenhead is close to the hub of the UK Motorway network. Easy access to the M4 Jcn 8/9 is gained via the A404(M) and the A308(M).
