Living
After enjoying a good day at the shops, you can relax with family and friends as you spend the evening soaking up the city’s cosmopolitan atmosphere. The city comes alive at nighttime and you can enjoy a cosy evening in any number of popular bistros, restaurants and wine bars surrounding the beautifully lit cathedral, all within a short walk of each other.

On a more leisurely note, why not catch a movie at the cinema just minutes from your new home in St Georges Place? Or take in a West End play at the Marlowe Theatre, just a few blocks on along the river's edge at The Friars. The Kingsmead Leisure Centre is conveniently central and boasts a large pool and sports facilities. If you like cricket, Canterbury’s famous Kent County Cricket Ground is on your doorstep. Just imagine spending a warm summer's day relaxing on the terraces, indulging in a glass of wine and some strawberries.

At the weekend you can look forward to spending the day browsing around Canterbury’s narrow streets, which are teeming with a variety of shops, not to mention the new Whitefriars shopping precinct and Fenwick’s department store.

Location
Of course you don’t always have to stay so close to home. Canterbury is very convenient for travellers. You can take a twenty-minute drive North and spend the day on the beautiful sandy beaches of Herne Bay and Whitstable, take the M2 East to London for the day, or follow the A2 South towards Dover for those weekend trips to the continent. If you don’t want to take the car then you can hop on a train from Canterbury’s East station, less than a mile's walk from your new home. London Victoria is only an hour and a half away, and from Canterbury’s West station you can reach Dover in around fifty minutes.
