Shared Ownership or New Build HomeBuy is a government-funded scheme which helps people who can’t afford to purchase a home outright on the open market. Shared Ownership is also known as part buy, part rent, as the scheme enables you to purchase a share in a home and rent the remainder from a housing association such as Paradigm. Applicants usually buy a 50 percent share in their new home, but the size of the share can vary between 25 per cent and 75 percent and will depend on individual circumstances.
