Graham Spence, site manager at Taylor Wimpey's Abbey Grange development, has won the award.
Graham Spence has beaten off stiff competition from more than 13,000 entries to be honoured with a National House Building Council (NHBC) Pride in the Job Quality Award.
The award, which is one of 68 won by Taylor Wimpey site managers around Britain, recognises Spence's dedication to building high quality homes for buyers and ranks Abbey Grange in Arbroath in the top 3 per cent of developments across Britain.
Pride in the Job Quality Awards are presented following a stringent judging process by NHBC inspectors who perform spot checks and continuous assessment of developments throughout the year. The Quality Awards also provide buyers with the assurance that the development provides top quality homes and excellent customer service.
Spence said: "This award recognises the hard work of the whole team at Abbey Grange who all take great pride in ensuring that the homes we build are completed to the highest possible standards. I'm delighted to have reached this stage of the competition and to be recognised by the industry in this way."
Peter Matthews, managing director for Taylor Wimpey in east Scotland added: "We are committed to maintaining the highest levels of quality and customer service and this has ensured that we continue to be an NHBC award winning house builder year after year. Spence's Quality Award is thoroughly deserved and we'll all be supporting him as he progresses through to the regional heats and hopefully to the grand final in London."
Malcolm MacLeod, regional director for NHBC, said: "Winning a Pride in the Job Award is a major achievement for any site manager. These people are at the top of their game, ensuring that the homes they help create are of the highest standards. Each of our award recipients can be truly proud of this accolade.
"For over three decades, Pride in the Job has been a foundation of NHBC's work to improve housing standards, encouraging best practice on site. The homes these individuals have built are without doubt among the best in Britain."
Pride in the Job is the only awards scheme in Britain that recognises the significant contribution of site managers who achieve the highest standards in new home construction. The scheme has been instrumental in raising the build quality of new homes in Britain for more than three decades. The regional events take place in the autumn, whilst the Supreme Awards gala final will be held in London in January 2014.
