House builder Barratt Homes has announced proposals for Cathedral Walk on East Somerset Way in the historic city.
Cathedral Walk in Somerset will offer a range of two, three and four bedroom homes designed for first time buyers and families looking to move up the housing ladder.
Barratt Homes sales director Andrea Pilgrim said the location, mix of homes and schemes to help buyers were already generating interest in the new homes, which are due to launch this summer.
"We're delighted to be creating new homes in Wells and anyone interested in making their home here can register their interest now,'' said Pilgrim. "We believe Cathedral Walk will provide valuable new homes for the area in a sought after location.''
The latest designs from Barratt will feature at Cathedral Walk, all with modern living in mind.
Pilgrim explained: "The focus is on what customers want from a new home. That means traditional looking exteriors combined with modern, airy interiors; bigger windows to increase natural light; and more flexibility in how the available space is utilised."
Many of the homes feature open plan floor layouts with the integration of the kitchen and dining areas. The width of the floor to ceiling French windows will be doubled to not only maximise natural light but blur the boundary between inside and outside spaces. There is now a higher specification in the bathrooms with larger showers among the main features.
