  • Barratt Homes development, The Zone, which is located in Bristol's Temple Quarter, is proving popular with those taking advantage of the house builder's first time buyer initiative scheme.

The offer is part of the Government's low cost home ownership scheme enabling buyers to obtain a mortgage for 50 per cent of the purchase price.

"In return, the Government assists with the remaining 50 per cent, which the buyer repays over time and when the property is sold," Barratt's sales director Andrea Pilgrim explained.

She added that private buyers can also use the developer's head start initiative to purchase a property, which are priced between £87,000 and £210,000.

Another site attracting interest from first time buyers is Barratt's Torre Marine development in Torquay, where prices range from £124,000 to £175,000.ADNFCR-1100-ID-18942532-ADNFCR
