Buyers are invited to a special open weekend to discover how the scheme could smooth their move to an idyllic new home.

  • Help to Buy allows potential customers to purchase a brand new Redrow Homes property for less, with only a 5 per cent deposit.

The scheme enables buyers who have saved around a 5 per cent deposit to take out an equity loan from the Government for up to 20 per cent of the purchase price. This means they only need a 75 per cent mortgage from their chosen lender and should be able to access much more competitive interest rates, thus making their mortgage repayments more affordable. For example, Nationwide recently joined the scheme with a fixed rate of 2.54 for two years.

Unlike previous help schemes, everyone can apply for an equity loan through Help to Buy, not just first time buyers. It is available exclusively on new homes.

A collection of homes are available at The Grange, with prices from £179,995 to £279,995.

The traditional exteriors of the homes hide a contemporary interior specification, featuring convivial open plan living spaces, fashionable kitchen designs with floor to ceiling units and top brand name appliances, plus bathrooms that are sleek, modern and pleasing to the eye.

All of them fall below the £600,000 threshold for Help to Buy and the 20 per cent equity loan - which is interest-free for the first five years - can be repaid at any time or when the purchaser comes to sell their home.

It's not just The Grange that cater perfectly for families. Maidstone has shops, schools, leisure and recreational facilities, including the picturesque Mote Park just a short walk away, while the surrounding countryside and seaside towns offer ideal opportunities for walking, horse riding, golfing, fishing or boating. Family days out can be enjoyed at Hop Farm Family Park, Maidstone Millennium River Park and Leeds Castle.

For commuters, a high speed rail service from Maidstone West station takes just 48 minutes to reach London St Pancras, currently running during peak times on weekdays, while Maidstone East station offers journey times to London Victoria or Charing Cross of around an hour.
