Britain's largest retirement specialist has taken inspiration from the local area to decide on the names for two new developments.
Both developments, currently under construction on The Brow, off Queen Elizabeth Avenue in the heart of Burgess Hill, have been given titles to reflect their location and pay homage to the history of the surrounding area.
The complex of 46 stylish Retirement Living properties built exclusively for active over 60s has been called Clayton Court after a local parish of the same name. Meanwhile, the attractive collection of 56 Assisted Living apartments for those over 70 who appreciate a little extra assistance with day to day life, will go by the title of Corbett Court after the 1950s engineering factory that used to stand on the nearby Pleasure Gardens.
Sharon Callcut, regional marketing manager for McCarthy & Stone, said: "Each development will provide a different type of retirement lifestyle, designed specifically to meet the varying needs of retirees in the area. They will both consist of a selection of purpose-built properties where residents can enjoy the freedom of their retirement in style, however Assisted Living at Corbett Court will also offer the added option of some extra help for any residents who might need it.

Both Clayton Court and Corbett Court will house a communal residents lounge, a hotel style guest suite, landscaped gardens, and a laundry room. As standard in all McCarthy & Stone properties, each individual apartment will incorporate thoughtful features such as 24 hour emergency call points, electrical sockets at a raised height to reduce bending, a camera entry system, easy grip lever taps in the bathroom and kitchen and energy efficient heating.
Those opting for Assisted Living at Corbett Court will also benefit from an hour of domestic assistance each week as part of their service charge and personal care assistance can also be organised for those individuals who require it, at an additional cost. An on-site restaurant is also provided so that residents can enjoy a hot meal 365 days a year.
