More choice is on the way for buyers in Kings Norton, Birmingham, as the construction of 127 homes from house builder Barratt Homes is well underway on Walkers Heath.
The new homes are being built on a brownfield site formerly owned by Birmingham City Council for residential housing and will be transformed into a sustainable new community.
The new development, named Kings Rise, will bring a total of 127 new homes to the area, 35 per cent of which will be affordable housing. The mix of homes will consist of one bedroom coach houses, two bedroom apartments and two, three and four bedroom houses in the new Barratt Homes house type range.
As well as a £313,000 contribution to public open space, Barratt will also be setting up bird and bat boxes at the new development to ensure the current wildlife is maintained.
Lucy Turner, sales manager for Barratt in the west Midlands, said: "We are thrilled to be making progress at our latest development in Kings Norton and we are looking forward to creating a thriving new community here.
"We have started the build of our first phase at Kings Rise. The choices of home styles we will have available are ideal for first time buyers, growing families and downsizers.
"You will be situated on the south side of Birmingham where you will find all your local amenities and plenty of entertainment nearby."
