The housebuilder has announced the appointment of Sam Wood as its new sales director.
Barratt has appointed former sales manager Sam Wood as the new sales director for its Yorkshire West region.
The post will see Wood take on responsibility for the sales area covering west and south Yorkshire which involves 23 live and 13 proposed or new developments for 2012.
Wood, a graduate in politics and economics from the University of Aberystwyth, joined the Yorkshire West team in 1996 as a sales adviser, bringing a wealth of customer service expertise to the role. Thanks to her passion for property and a deep rooted understanding of the local market, she was promoted to sales manager in 2003 and has since made a significant contribution to the performance of the business.
She replaces outgoing sales director, Ian Ruthven, who remains within the team in the new post of regional managing director.
Internally, Barratt Yorkshire West continues to flourish with a 180 strong team with 60 of those operating from its base in Leeds.
Wood said: "I have been delighted to be part of this team for so long. Taking on this new role is an exciting challenge and I am already relishing the opportunity to help deliver even more much needed new housing in this region.
"We have an excellent reputation and track record for delivering what buyers want in Yorkshire and I intend to build on Ian's success in this role to the advantage of home hunters across our sales area."
