A local family with no intention of moving have part exchanged their way into a new home at Taylor Wimpey's Abbotswood development in Romsey.

  • Neil and Louise Payne along with their two children, Lauren and Samuel, hadn't even contemplated moving from their home in Romsey until they visited Abbotswood.

But after looking at the site plans, seeing the stunning show homes and hearing about Taylor Wimpey's acclaimed Part Exchange, the Paynes wasted no time in reserving their four bedroom 'Thornford' home.

Neil explains: "We hadn't been looking for a new home. In fact, our old house wasn't even on the market, but we'd heard about the development and just out of curiosity we decided to take a closer look. Being from Romsey ourselves, we had reservations about a new build development on our doorstep but the visit to Abbotswood really opened our eyes."

After being won over by the development's fantastic location and falling in love with the four bedroom 'Thornford' home, the family then found out about Part Exchange.

Neil adds: "Abbotswood enjoys a lovely setting with a conservation area right on your doorstep and Romsey town centre just a couple of minutes away. What's more, we loved the plans for the 'Thornford' house type, it's very spacious and its four double bedrooms make it the perfect family home.

"The sales executives were incredibly helpful. They talked us through the plans for the development, explained Part Exchange and answered all of our questions. From there it was all very straightforward - someone came to view our property, Taylor Wimpey made us a great offer and it was all sorted within a matter of weeks. I'd recommend Part Exchange to anybody looking for a new home."

Under the scheme, Taylor Wimpey buys your current property taking the stress out of the buying process and making broken chains a thing of the past. As the house builder purchases your home at an agreed price, you don't have to worry about paying any estate agents fees. This gives you extra money to spend on the more important things, like furnishing your new home.

Fiona Creed, regional sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey in the southern counties, comments: "We're delighted that we've been able to help Neil and his family make the smooth move into their new home at Abbotswood using part exchange. Through the scheme we have already assisted dozens of house hunters all looking to purchase their new home at the development."

Abbotswood currently hosts a fine selection of four and five bedroom properties with prices starting from £325,000 for the Kempsford home.

The development is ideally located in historic Romsey, close to Southampton and Winchester, and lies on the River Test which is famous for fly fishing. There is a good selection of high street shops, restaurants and gastro pubs in the area, as well as beautiful parkland to explore.
