Peterborough in Cambridgeshire has been identified as an excellent residential location for those who commute to London for work.

  • This is good news for Larkfleet Homes, a housebuilder that has championed the area as a great location for commuters for some time.

The Carter Jonas Commuter Index scored Peterborough extremely well against other commuter cities such as Oxford and Cambridge.

The results of the research were based on the examination of factors that are important to those working but not living in the capital. Factors such as house prices, schools, mortgage costs, train services and travel costs were all considered when compiling the survey.

The 53 minute journey time to London King's Cross from Peterborough station and the reasonable house prices compared to Cambridge or Oxford make the city a convenient commuter location.

The survey found that, on average, a four bedroom townhouse in Oxfordshire is £675,000 whereas in Peterborough it is £350,000.

Larkfleet Homes currently has properties available on its Parson's Prospect development off Thorney Road in the traditional village of Eye - only two miles from the city of Peterborough. Situated on the edge of the Cambridgeshire Fen landscape, Parson's Prospect offers everything from two bedroom starter homes to three, four and five bedroom family homes. It is the perfect location for those travelling into the capital on a daily basis.

Larkfleet Homes is currently offering buyers on phase two of the Eye development the option of photovoltaic panels (PV) that produce energy from daylight.

Larkfleet's Abbeyfields development in Bourne, Lincolnshire is located only a short drive from Peterborough and comprises two and three bedroom properties with prices starting at just £125,000.

Properties at Abbeyfields are perfect not only for first time buyers but also for buyers who are looking to downsize and young families looking for a high quality new home.

Abbeyfields is situated in an existing residential area and is close to the town centre, Bourne's secondary and primary schools and various sports facilities.
