Redrow has been commended with three top awards in the 2013 north Wales LABC Building Excellence Awards for its developments in Flintshire and Wrexham.
The Ewloe-based housebuilder won the Best Volume Developer award in the Flintshire region for Northop Park, and the Wrexham region for Ty Newydd. Northop Park also won the coveted overall regional award which covers all local authorities in north Wales.
The awards ceremony, held at De Vere Village St David's, is organised by the building control teams of five Welsh local authorities and recognises developers for the quality of their workmanship, the way they adhere to building regulations, plus safety, site presentation, welfare and other key issues.
Sandy McBride, managing director for Redrow Homes in the north west, praised the teams based at the two sites. He said: "This is a fantastic achievement and these are awards that all of us within Redrow north west are very proud of. Our congratulations and thanks go to the site teams for their hard work and efforts in winning the awards."
The site managers who led the winning teams were Gareth Wynne at Northop Park, Northop, and Gary Ellson, at Ty Newydd in Wrexham.
John Wilkinson, team leader for Flintshire County Council building control, said: "The Building Excellence Awards are all about the essence of good building. Our finalists are not judged on architectural beauty, but on the 'excellence' shown from a construction and technical building control point of view.
"Northop Park and Ty Newydd are both worthy winners on a number of fronts. Our awards showcase buildings and design teams that have had to tussle with technical issues, difficult sites, innovative and creative solutions. As well as creating a quality product, Northop Park and Ty Newydd are perfect examples of Redrow's high quality of work each step of the way."
