A leading house builder is demonstrating its commitment to the region by supporting the regeneration of land in Willenhall.
Westbury Partnerships, a division of leading housing group Persimmon Homes, is constructing 47 new and affordable homes at Wood Street in Willenhall, on the site of a derelict former lock factory.
It is part of a £5.2m scheme for housing association The Accord Group in partnership with Walsall Council.
The development of modern and contemporary houses and apartments is being created for local people on rental housing waiting lists.
Tim Brickley, director in charge of Persimmon Homes in the west Midlands, said: "The 1.76 acre site will be transformed into a super new community of 35 new houses and 12 two bedroom apartments.
"Existing derelict buildings have now been demolished in preparation for construction and work is well underway on site.
"We hope to see local people moving into their new homes by late autumn."
The development is being funded jointly by the Government's Homes and Communities Agency and the Accord Group, one of the largest not-for-profit housing associations in the west Midlands.
Westbury Partnerships is dedicated to working in collaboration with residents, customers and partners to deliver affordable housing.
