  • Buyers are seizing the chance to purchase their ideal new home at Pilgrims Chase, Taylor Wimpey's sought-after development in Spalding, Lincolnshire.

The start of the New Year has seen a rush of prospective purchasers taking their pick of the plots at the hugely popular property collection - with eight new homes in Spalding snapped up in February alone.

The popularity of the new homes in Spalding at Pilgrims Chase reflects what has been a positive start to 2013 for buyers across the East Midlands, with the Government's successful Funding for Lending scheme providing a vital boost to the housing market.

The multi-billion pound initiative gives lenders access to cheaper finance and is contributing to increased mortgage availability and to lower interest rates for first time buyers and home-movers alike.

Mariana Knight, regional sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey in Spalding, says: "We have been experiencing a real surge in interest at Pilgrims Chase since the start of 2013 - a pattern that we are also seeing at our developments throughout the East Midlands.

"The number of mortgage deals available to customers has increased dramatically following the launch of the Funding for Lending scheme, while interest rates remain at an all-time low. All of this is great news for first time buyers and existing homeowners looking to move upmarket to new houses in Spalding."

There's a selection of stylish homes on sale at Pilgrims Chase, including three bedroom houses available under the First Buy scheme from as little as £107,996 (full prices from £134,995) and four bedroom properties from just £169,995.

The four bedroom 'Farnham' semi-detached house, for example, is available from only £209,995 and features a contemporary kitchen room and a spacious lounge/dining room opening through French doors to the private rear garden, with a guest cloakroom completing the ground floor layout.

Upstairs, the landing leads to an ensuite master bedroom, three further bedrooms and a main bathroom, while the property also benefits from an integral garage and driveway parking outside.

All new homes at the development are completed to a high standard specification, including energy efficient central heating, double glazing and a fitted kitchen with integrated oven, hob and hood.

To make securing one of these homes even more appealing, Taylor Wimpey offers a range of incentives, including the First Buy scheme, which lets qualifying first time buyers secure selected plots for 80 per cent of their full price, including a 5 per cent deposit, subject to status.

Alternatively the NewBuy initiative enables credit-worthy customers to access 95 per cent mortgages, while Part Exchange is available for those with a property to sell.

Located off Harlequin Drive, Pilgrims Chase is located just a short walk from Spalding town centre, where there's a wide selection of high street stores, independent shops and a choice of supermarkets, including Tesco and Sainsbury's. A twice-weekly market and monthly farmers' market are also popular with shoppers.

Families will appreciate that there's a choice of primary and secondary schools within walking distance of the new homes, including a well-regarded grammar school.

The Castle Sports Complex in Spalding offers a wealth of leisure facilities including fitness centre, swimming pool and an all-weather pitch, while the South Holland Centre in Market Place stages concerts, theatre productions and film screenings.

For commuters, there are convenient links to Peterborough and the A1 via the A16, while Spalding railway station is within walking distance of the development, offering direct services to Peterborough in about 20 minutes.

First Buy closed to new applications in April 2013. For the latest incentives, click here.
