About the development:
Springfields at Hunts Grove is a development of new homes in Hardwicke, situated a short drive from Gloucester and the rural Cotswolds. These 2,3 and 4-bedroom properties are designed to appeal to first-time buyers, growing families and professionals commuting into Gloucester, Bristol or Birmingham.
For everyday grocery shopping, there are several supermarkets within a five-minute drive of Springfields. A small retail park, The Olympus Centre, is less than two miles from the development and provides an out-of-town retail experience alongside a selection of casual restaurants.
A variety of high-street stores, specialist and designer boutiques can be found in Gloucester. Well-known retailers are focused around the city centre and in the Eastgate and King’s Walk shopping malls, while the Cathedral Quarter has a variety of independent shops.
Gloucester also offers a broad dining choice which includes an array of independent eateries, many of which celebrate the regional produce of the Cotswolds; The Barge Restaurant, a family-run establishment serving traditional British pub fare, is at the Gloucester Docks, as is Tank, a pub serving locally-sourced food and beer brewed at the Gloucester Brewery. A range of bars and chain restaurants are also situated within the Gloucester Quays complex, and many occupy a waterfront location on the docks, offering opportunities to enjoy alfresco dining.
In the area around Springfields at Hunts Grove there are a number of sports facilities, covering a wide choice of activities for all ages. The Waterwells Sports Centre, which has a sports hall, artificial grass pitches and is the home stadium of the Quedgeley Wanderers Football Club, is a short walk from home. The Gloucester Ski and Snowboard Centre is five miles from the development, and an outdoor bike park, Flyup 417, is around 20 minutes’ drive away.
A multiplex cinema is located at the Gloucester Quays shopping outlet, just outside the city centre. Also in central Gloucester is the Guildhall, an independent venue that regularly hosts music, comedy and theatre performances, as well as film screenings.
The city’s history and impressive architecture, such as the ornate Gloucester Cathedral, have made it a popular destination for visitors. There are several museums including the Jet Age Museum, and the National Waterways Museum, which offers boat trips along the Gloucester Sharpness Canal. The rural Cotswolds are a short drive from Hardwicke, and the picturesque Cotswold Commons and Beechwoods National Nature Reserve can be reached by car in around 20 minutes. For outdoor pursuits including mountain biking, hiking and canoeing, the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean are less than an hour’s drive away.
There are a number of well-regarded schools situated near these new homes in Hardwicke. For primary aged students these include Waterwells Primary Academy, which is less than a mile from Springfields at Hunts Grove. Hardwicke Parochial Academy and Field Court Junior School are both a 10-minute drive away.
Secondary aged students in the area are served by Severn Vale School, two miles from home, and The Crypt School, which can be reached by car in around 10 minutes. The notable Wynstones School, which provides independent education for pupils aged 3-19, is located in Whaddon, around four miles from the development.
