Oakley Park
The leafy village of Mulbarton is the ideal location to enjoy the very best of rural English life. Local amenities include a Co-operative supermarket, a bakery and a doctor’s surgery, as well as a post office, a common and the World’s End public house. There’s also a sports and social club, where new members are always welcome, if that takes your fancy.
Mulbarton has its own infant and junior schools, while 11 to 16 year-olds are catered for at Hethersett Academy. Sixth form studies can be taken at City College Norwich, whilst the well-regarded University of East Anglia is also close at hand.
From your new home at Oakley Park, you can be in the centre of the bustling city of Norwich in just 17 minutes. There, you will find a huge range of things to see and do. If you’re into history, you can pay a visit to the city’s two cathedrals and its Norman castle, whilst culture vultures will enjoy exploring its numerous museums including The Bridewell and Dragon Hall.
You can take in live entertainment at the city’s Theatre Royal, Playhouse or Arts Centre, or catch a film at the independent Cinema City. When you fancy a day’s shopping, Chapelfield or Castle Mall offer more than 150 stores including the region’s only House of Fraser. As a city proud of its unique identity, it’s no surprise that you’ll also find an excellent range of independent retailers, not to mention its famous market, with stalls opening from Monday to Saturday.
Around half an hour away from Oakley Park are the popular Norfolk Broads, with beautiful coastline located just a little further away. Popular seaside towns, easily accessible from Mulbarton, include Caister-on-Sea and Great Yarmouth. Around 30 miles away to the west, meanwhile, is the stunning Thetford Forest.
Transport wise, you can be on the A11 in less than 10 minutes, connecting you to the M11 in just over an hour and linking you to Cambridge and London. Your nearest major railway station is Norwich, from where you can be in London Liverpool Street in just under two hours whilst other train destinations include Cambridge and Ipswich, or north to the historic Norfolk coast. For travel abroad, Norwich International Airport is approximately ten miles from home.
